Welcome to Scotland's West Coast Golf Links
It was October 17, 1860 when The Open first came to Prestwick on Scotland's links-fringed west coast. In fact, this was the inaugural Open Championship, the first to be held anywhere in the world and what began as a simple competition among eight of Scotland’s leading players became the greatest golf event in the world - and Ayrshire has been at the heart of that history throughout.
Scotland’s West Coast Golf Links is built on that history, celebrating the past but with an eye clearly on the future.
Ayrshire offers the visiting golfer perhaps the finest collection of links golf courses in the world and with it come easy access, quality accommodation, fine dining and a history and heritage to match. Please look at what's on offer on the website and then come and play...
Seniors Open Championship Returns to Turnberry
An amazing field is getting ready to head for the Ayrshire coastline for the Seniors Open Championship at Turnberry from the 26th to the 29th of July.
The field includes Tom Watson (who was winner of two Opens and a British Seniors in Ayrshire!) and Fred Couples, Tony Jacklin and Sam Torrance, Greg Norman and Corey Pavin amongst a galaxy of other famous names. There's free car parking each day of the event and it truly is one of the best spectating courses in the country.
